Sex and the Shoes. And the City.

Wel, for the first time in a long time I forked over my $14.50 to see this much-hyped film, admittedly with a few hesitations, 'cos, y'know, the book is always better than the film, the tv show is always better than the film...but Sex and the City: The Movie is pleasantly enjoyable! I can't give away too much of the plot, but I reccomend it. The clothes? Fun and totally OTT, which is what I wanted to see. The shoes? Tick. Have just started a shoe savings account. And am also Googling how to get that walk-in wardrobe (see it, you'll know what I mean). The guys in our group only came along for a perve, but when they realised that the chicks are actually in their 40's, indeed the awesomeness that is Samantha turns 50, they tuned out. And they didn't get the shoes at all. The movie touches on a lot of issues about life, love (the biggie, so to speak), choices, feminism, fashion, sex, family and will make you want to move to New York. It is cleverly written and the characters generally translate well to the big screen. Jennifer Hudson is adorable as 'Saint' Louise, even though I'm never actually sure why Carrie needs a personal assistant, considering she doesn't really do much except go to Starbucks and designer stores alot. The blatant product placement is a bit cringeworthy at times, but it is unfortuantely neccessary. It gets 9 out of 10.

Who wants blue Manolos? I want blue Manolos.....

  1. Hi,

I love your blog, and your fashion sense! I'd like to invite you to join a new social shopping web service called Shoplette.

    http://www.shoplette.com

Shoplette is a service you can use to tell your friends what you bought and where you bought it. Use it to check out what your friends have bought and where they’ve been shopping, discover new stuff to buy and new places to shop, and find out what’s hot and where to shop in other countries.

Please give it a spin and let me know what you think. We're still in the early stages and would be very grateful for any feedback you have for us.

    Thanks and best wishes,
    Shannon Low
