Monday Street Style

These pics make me want to get all dressed up in a gorgeous coat, gorgeous heels, and/or old school hat. Plus they make me want to wear socks. Socks!

Monday Street Style: Full Skirts

It's nearly Spring! You can almost smell it...actually that's the lovely bunch of fresh flowers picked from my mother-in-law's garden today and lovingly, but not very artfully, arranged in a vase here on my desk. I would totally fail the Ladette to Lady flower-arranging course. Anyway, they are very Spring-like, as are this weeks street looks - full skirts, prints, mixed textures:

Monday Street Style: Touches of Spring Denim

I live in denim over winter. Springtime down here usually isn't warm enough to cast them it off completely, so it's nice to give it a fresh run with some new heels, a cute tee, a loose shirt and flats...

Monday Street Style: Blouses & Knits

Somehow, looks that were once associated with being a bit old and frumpy, are getting a slick new re-invention. Like the blouse. I've not heard anyone say "blouse" for years. Or fugly, chunky knits, which are not to be shuddered at, but rather, emabraced as warm and cosy. Get both in your wardrobe, stat - both are totally wearable now right through til Spring!

Monday Street Style: To The Max

Nothing embodies the free spirit of the Spring season than a maxi dress or skirt - patterned or plain, for work or weekend, they're easy to wear, comfortable, and handy if you can't be bothered shaving your legs:

Monday Street Style: Socks

The humble sock has muade such a comeback lately - it's cute, warm and covers a lack of pedicure. Knee-high or ankle, if you've got the legs for it and a playful attitude, go for it!

Monday Street Style: Chambray

Denim-on-denim can look good in magazine editorial, but on the streets (in a non-prostitute way) it's pretty hard to get right. There's no reason you can't work a little bit of chambray into your wardrobe though - take these looks for inspiration:

Monday Street Style: Got The Blues

Funny how a colour associated with being a bit blergh can actually be so uplifting. Or how it really does look fab with black, despite black-and-blue usually referring to an injury. Try blue in any shade from navy through to turquoise and just see if it doesn't make you smile...
