Street Style: Use Your Head
Ever noticed how the most fashionable people don't actually follow trends? In fact, they pretty much always wear the opposite of mainstream looks - and if you think about it, that's how new trends are created. One look I love but can never pull off is hats. I love the idea that once upon a time people wouldn't dare head out to do their shopping without a nifty hat perched on their 'do. And in summer (shade) or winter (warmth), it just makes sense. Yeah that's right - fashion that makes sense! The cool kids on the street are whacking on all forms of floppy, knitted, floral, turbaned and embellished headgear, and turning what could easily be a mainstream look into something that's definitely their own:

Monday Street Style: Socks
The humble sock has muade such a comeback lately - it's cute, warm and covers a lack of pedicure. Knee-high or ankle, if you've got the legs for it and a playful attitude, go for it!

Monday Street Style: Celebs!
Let's do something old-fashioned this week and see what the celebs are wearing out and about:
Jessica Alba looks casual and carefree in cuffed boyfriend jeans, flats, a dipped hem tee and scarf. Effortless and perfect for a playground trip with her gorgeous daughter!
Coco's Tea Party
Ah Posh, how I do love thee. Even though those are elasticised hem khaki pants, somehow they work for a strut through the airport. Top marks for the jacket!

Carey Mulligan looks totally Parisian chic in a cute striped cardi and flats - I don't think she's actually in Paris but considering international flights are about the worst thing you can do for the environment, it's better to just channel the look, eh?
Not everyone likes Vanessa Hudgen's look. Kinda bag lady, kinda beachy cool. I think her hat is fab - sun protection with a vintagey flair! And the shirt-dress is a decent length thankfully. Not outrageously fabulous, but for a warm Spring (or Autumn) day it's lovely and laidback.
Whitney Port has cute little polka dots on her tights. And a very, very lovely coat.
